Bionicle MOC: Skirmix Rex 2 by Rahiden Bionicle MOC: Skirmix Rex 2 by Rahiden
Old version: [link]

Tadah!

-As you can see, everything's been completely redone. The main difference is the head; Not only is it elongated and more T-Rex-like, but it keeps the Fenrak head so it can still be classed as a Skirmix! (Though apparently Skirmix is only a name, not a species...oh well, too late.)
-The body is bulkier and 'flows' more easily.
-Shorter arms, just for the halibut :P
-Thicker, stronger legs - it also holds up the body at 90 degrees, more like a T-Rex. Huge balance problems there.

If you want it to be more stable and more accurate to a T-Rex, why not add a back toe to the feet?

Make his arms like his legs, put his back legs further more in the back and less bulky, make his neck slightly longer but still thick, and then you mister got a giant land croc.
Leaving that apart, this is a very good MOC and I really like that jaw, so epic !

Absolutely awesome! You have a great talent for building better MOCs!

I love how all the parts of the head flow easily into each other so no part stands out and all act as one powerful whole! :D

You're lucky I still have the head (but not the body) in one piece.

As for your MOCs... I hate to say it, but it's hard to judge because of the bad photo quality. Even so, I'd recommend experimenting a little instead of using what Lego's shown you (I can already see Kardas' jaw and Kikanalo's claw). If it helps, I wrote something for the BionicleMOCers'League which may be of use. [link]

Indeed, comparing the two, this one certianly appears to have the anatomy closer to the course material.

I almost want to replace the fenrak skull that's on Ryakk's shoulder with an exact replica of the top part of this head design that way I can say that Ryakk killed one of theses instead of a fenrak. Your shirmix rex is way cooler and would be harder to kill then a fenrak. :XD:

xD I'm sure Ryakk could squash a Fenrakk with his foot...but I think he might need a rolled-up newspaper for this guy ;)

:faint: You sir are a better MOCer than I. This is pure fucking genius. I've been wondering what to do with both those head pieces and could never get something to happen. You do need to do something with those feet, I'll be honest and say they're total crap. Other than that this thing is genius. Bravo.

I was overjoyed with that comment until reading the word 'crap'. ¬.¬

Anyhoo, here's a pic: [link] I'll agree that these feet are a bit small, but if you look at the picture, T-Rex's feet aren't that bulky - and anyway, I like the texture of the Thornax Launchers.

Yeah I know. aesthetically they're kinda lacking and I can just imagine the difficulty of standing him up. You really do need to do something more with those feet. The could stand to be somewhat larger and the thornax launchers may look cool but they really don't function well from the looks of this.

"I have a big head, and small little arms.."

I mean wow, he should add, "small little feet" as well...

How in the world did it stood up? Balanced?

This definitely challenges me to make one of my own. Wanted to make one for a long time, but not a single clue how to make the head. That is an inspiration. Thanks.

It took an age to balance him, I tell you that. I've had to use supports to keep the tail horizontal; otherwise they'd droop down and he'd fall. Balance is really hard with T-Rex-shaped MOCs - There's the head and body bulk on one side of the legs, but only a tail on the other.

And you're welcome ^^

That's so much better! You did such a good job on it! n___n
If i had to suggest, it would be more body mass at the center of a body, you know.. Like a bird or something. Would probably mess up the balance even more, tho, so I'm not sure XD

GREAT JOB. You're getting better by the second!

Thankies!
I would do that, but again, with the balance x.x Back when he was just Skirmix Rex, when the legs were weaker, he'd just topple over if he was unbalanced...but this one, with stronger legs, slowly leans forward since his head's too heavy :P To be honest, I'm not sure which one is more frustrating xD
